Only 9 players and intense heat was not the only problem that Polonia faced during it's first game. Polonia could hold off the full strength Heat for one half. During the first half Polonia played well and created several opportunities. One such opportunity should have been converted by Heat's goalkeeper made an amazing save. In the second half, it was all down hill. The heat and frustration started settling in which resulted in conceding 4 additional goals. Could have been worse but Polonia showed lots of fighting spirit. Definitely did better than underhanded Heat season ago which walked out of the field at half-time being down 6-0. Polonia welcomed back Pat Kovalan in defense after several year absence and Gerardo Pineda in his debut. |
