Just about everything went wrong in the last game of the Spring Season. It seemed Polonia had all the right ingredients to defeat Vardar second time in the row. Majority of the core team was present except for our goalkeeper, Paul Dorney. Still we can't blame Dave McAvoy for the result. On the contrary, he kept the result down to single digit. The game started with Vardar being somewhat shorthanded and without their regular goalkeeper and it appeared that victory is well within reach. Perhaps everyone was already in vacation mode and perhaps the temperature was bit too high. In the end, Polonia lost 4-8 and never seemed able to win this game. Overall, it was a very mixed season. Hopes were very high as we had some notable player comebacks and new talented players joined in. |
